ROCKSTEADY - Definition /: consistent in performance or behavior
Who we are and what we do:
Rocksteady Running LLC is a Minnesota based company that produces trail and ultra-distance running races. Our races are put on by runners – for runners and would not be possible without a dedicated group of friends, volunteers and sponsors. Our goal is to host fun, challenging and safe endurance running races / events. The same commitment and dedication that we put into our own training, running, racing and athletic pursuits are put back ten-fold into the events that we host. This is our community, we all share it, together we make it what it is and we strive to make it better every single day – our events are intended to be a vehicle for and a reflection of that.
Events:
Rocksteady Running LLC hosts several events annually. Each our individual events has its own history, personality and tradition . We do everything possible to pay homage to the great runners, volunteers, sponsors, race directors and supporters who have helped to make these events what they are today:
- Zumbro Endurance Runs (est. 2009)
- Superior “Spring” Trail Races (est. 2003)
- Afton Trail Run (est. 1994)
- Superior “Fall” Trail Races (est. 1991)
- Endless Summer Trail Run Series (est. 2012)
Why we do what we do:
QUICK ANSWER = Passion.
MORE COMPLICATED ANSWER = Ultra and Trail Running’s popularity is at an all time high – we’ve been here for awhile and have been part of / experienced that growth. As a result of the massive growth and popularity in trail-running and ultra-distance running, the need for safe and well organized events has become increasingly more important. There are “big-city-marathons” – we run them, there are “local road races” – we jump in, there are “mud-runs” - my neighbor did one, there are free / informal “fun-runs” - we put on several each year… and then there are trail-races and ultra-marathons; too difficult to truly go mainstream yet too intriguing and too much fun to be ignored – putting on these events is truly a labor of love. With the increased interest, bigger race fields and generally more exposure comes increased responsibility. We strive to walk the fine line of staying on the fringe, staying close to our roots, keeping our edge and never loosing the purity that is synonymous with our type of running and racing – at the same time we have to play by a few rules… Our objective as an organization is to find the right balance and make YOUR race, a memorable experience for the right reasons.
Outreach & Collaboration:
We continually look to align ourselves with people, organizations, races and companies that share our passion for the sport. In addition to the events we host directly; we collaborate, work with, work for and or donate time, resources and equipment to dozens of other races, events and organizations. In addition, Rocksteady Running LLC makes charitable financial contributions annually to several organizations. We strive to operate on simple principles, like – “give back and do the right thing.”
